Eating clean is a lifestyle. It’s not about what you can eat or can’t eat, counting calories or eliminating carbs. Eating clean is about being mindful of the origin of your food and ensuring that the food is as close to its natural state as possible. To us, eating clean means consuming ingredients like fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, beans, fish, seafood and clean meats in ways that are absolutely delicious.
Yes. As long it is a clean meat. Look for meats that are ethically raised, natural, grass-fed and free of hormones. Feel free to add meat alongside any recipe that doesn’t already call for it. Steak, chicken and fish are all good. Avoid unclean marinades and breaded meats and fish.
We believe in keeping it simple. You will need an oven and stovetop. Some recipes require a blender or food processor. We’re also starting to incorporate slow cooker recipes as well.
One of our favourite things to do is take typical "junk food" and show you how to make it healthy. Pizza, pasta, chicken fingers - you can have it all! And we’ll show you how.
That Clean Life is designed to get you eating clean food and experience the benefits of doing so. Many do experience weight loss as a result of living That Clean Life, but this is just an added bonus to eating clean - not the goal.
Swap it out for a CLEAN ingredient that you do enjoy. Don’t like kale? Use spinach or mixed greens. Just make sure whatever ingredient you are subbing in is a whole, clean food.
Yes. Many of our recipes have been "kid approved"! There are so many fun ways to dress up the meals to make your kids (and maybe even your significant other) love them. Consider adding a drizzle of maple syrup, a sprinkle of parmesan or making a smiley face with avocado slices. Try to involve your kids in the food preparation process to get them more interested. Invite them to do kid-friendly kitchen tasks like stirring to mix ingredients or breaking the cauliflower into florets.
Yep! We have a ton of vegetarian recipes. The recipes that do include meat can easily be made without.
Some recipes do incorporate nuts. But the beauty of That Clean Life is that you can customize your meal plan to suit your needs!
Yes! We have tons of people who use both That Clean Life and Weight Watchers. We do provide you with estimates of the calories, protein, fat and carbs per serving of each recipe to make it a bit easier.
Yes. We provide you with an estimated breakdown of calories, carbohydrates, fat and protein per serving in each recipe. Although we attempt to provide accurate nutritional information, these figures should be considered estimates. Varying factors such as product types and the way ingredients are processed change the nutritional information in any given recipe. To obtain the most accurate representation of the nutritional information in a given recipe, you should calculate the nutritional information with the actual ingredients used in your recipe.
We do include rough estimates on how many portions each recipe makes, so use that as a guide if you’d like. But try to tune into your body and eat the amount that is right for you. Your body will tell you when you've had enough so listen to it! Part of the journey to health is figuring out how much food your body needs to function optimally.
